May the Fourth Be With You

The dream of a young boy from a farming family in Modesto, California was to make the greatest ever space adventure. He almost died in a car crash but fate landed him in the Univ of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts where he attracted the mentorship of Francis Ford Coppola and a best friend in a young Steven Spielberg

He and his partner first wrote a 12 page storyline which didn’t get a look in by any of the big studios. 20th Century Fox finally gave it a nod.

And then, his first draft got trashed by Coppola! Eventually, it took 4 drafts & 5 years of toil for it to finally get accepted & production to start in 1976

The rest, as they say is history!

George Lucas was that visionary and his first Star Wars got released in 1977 and became the most successful film for a long time ($513usd)

Star Wars ushered in a new era of movie-making with its special effects. Engrossing blend of myth and fairy tale, it set the stage for a franchise that would span decades and create generations of fans across the world—all connected by a common love for a galaxy far, far away. And worth a whopping $ 42bn!

May the 4th be with You is the fans way of celebrating the genius of Lucas as the Star Wars Day!

Incredible story of resilience to live one’s dream
